All About Me
My name is Maria E Patino. I am Hispanic Latina female fluent in English and Spanish. Are you feeling stuck in your career or personal life? Don't worry, I've been there too. But the good news is that a little bit of motivation can go a long way. As someone who is passionate about helping others grow and achieve their goals, I have developed a variety of strategies and techniques to help my clients overcome their mental blocks and find the inspiration they need to move forward. ust a little about my educational journey I graduate Lovell High School in 2009. I started college in 2009 with no guidance from school, being first family generation college students was a difficult process however that did not stop me from furthering my education. I graduate from the Institute of Technology in 2011 and received my associate in criminal justice. I continued with my education and completed my bachelor degree of science in psychology in 2018 from University of Phoenix. Throughout my educational years I worked as a cashier at a local store in my community. Throughout my experience as a cashier, I have gained customer service skills, time management, problem solving and leadership skills which has allowed to work with a diverse population.

I have dedicated my career to social work for the last seven years, and it is something that I am immensely passionate about. With my experience in case management, I can provide the support and guidance that my clients need. As a professional in this field, I understand the importance of following all of the rules and regulations to ensure that each case is handled with the utmost care and attention. In 2022 I decided to enroll in graduate school. I was accepted into the USC Rossier school counseling program. Being a full-time student and working full-time student was very challenging, however my goal and vison +motivated me to stive for success.
I became a school counseling intern for American Union Elementary school. A comprehensive approach to school counseling is what I aim to provide. I work with students to provide social emotional support, enhancing overall well-being and balance. Alongside individual and group counseling, I work with families to ensure a collaborative approach to tackling issues. I provide academic guidance to help students achieve their full potential.

My experience as a first-generation college graduate motivates me to assist my students to reach their full potential. Whether it is helping them choose the right classes, supporting their social and emotional development, or sharing my knowledge of the college application process, I am here to guide them through every step of their academic journey. Being bilingual enables me to communicate with Spanish-speaking families and help bridge the language barrier. My goal is to create a positive impact on the lives of my students, one conversation at a time and become the person I needed to growing up.
